The communities of Kingfisher Lake, Wapekeka, and Wunnumin Lake each have a fully-equipped, two-nurse Health Centre, a local Health Council, a Mental Health Team, and a First Response Team. 

Administrative support is provided by Shibogama Health Authority located in Sioux Lookout. Sioux Lookout Program physicians, located at the Sioux Lookout Zone Hospital, supply 24 hour clinical assistance via telephone, as well as monthly physician visits to each community. 

Shibogama nurses have access to all health programs, health education, and health promotion materials and professionals located at the Zone Hospital.

• The work schedule consists of a regular work week and shared afterhours on-call.
• Salary levels range depending on your qualifications and experience.
• On-call/Overtime compensation package. $200 per week night call, $400 per weekend call.
• Full benefits (includes a comprehensive pension plan).
• Isolation post allowance (IPA).
• Three bonus trips per year at $800 per trip.
• Eight weeks paid vacation after one year's service.
• Travel and relocation assistance available.
• Clinical skills training for expanded role is provided via the Primary Care Nursing Progam.
• Modern, comfortable, fully-equipped housing is provided. 
• Satellite TV and High speed internet is included.

With a population ranging from 275–500 persons, Shibogama First Nations communities offer:
